    If you’ve ever read about dermarollers and microneedling, you might be quick to lump them into the many other questionable hair loss treatment products and fads. However, there’s actually a reasonable amount of evidence to suggest that microneedling with the appropriate serums could aid in hair regrowth. Microneedling is effective for treating hair loss and alopecia, but requires more healing time. Microneedling results may vary depending on the individual, but generally, it takes four to six months of consistent treatment to see noticeable improvements in hair density and thickness. You can wash your hair after microneedling, but it’s best to wait for about 8 – 12 hours to allow your scalp to start the healing process.

    Protocol Information

    Client should come with freshly washed hair to have to avoid showering immediately post treatment and to have the area clear of all dirt, oils and debris. Product free is necessary. Clean area to be treated with alcohol. Pat dry prior to application. Apply light pressure with needling technique. Apply hydrating serum or specific hair growth serum for ultimate results. We recommend microneedling once to twice a week depending on severity of hair loss, leaving a few days in between treatments for the skin to rejuvenate and repair. Appropriate depth for microneedling is between 1.5-2.5mm but your provider will determine the correct depth for the patient specifically based on pinpoint bleeding. You may feel your products tingle or “spike” after application. Apply at-home protocol based on prescription instructions. If you have questions, speak with your provider.
